Jul. 29th, 2012 12:42 pmI'm HIDEOUSLY EXCITED about the ocean campaign with Arella and can't wait to get started
mostly because fishpeople
love fishpeople
that said though my character won't get along with ANYONE haha. He likes sharks, and is very, VERY distrustful of Aventi, for a number of reasons. Oops...

Date: 2012-07-30 02:53 pm (UTC)I was leaning again towards either going straight up Cleric, picking up the Cloistered Cleric template (which drops a lot of the tanky-fighter aspects of clerics like armor in favor of being more bard-like in their knowledge spread), and in either case taking the Contemplative prestige class (which fits my character's whole goal of seeking transcendence with some neat bonuses)...
but then I saw Stormcaster in Stormwrack and Arella there are few things I love more than blowing shit up. And since my character's whole Thing is trying to become legendary, what's more legendary than being like "Dear weather: Please pwn the shit out of my enemies. Thx <3"
also a sea witch + stormcaster would mean people would be unable to escape us if they made us mad. Leofric would control the air and your gal would control the waves and it's like
where the hell do you GO from there
(the answer is nowhere, you're doomed)
(dooooomed)

Date: 2012-07-30 08:01 pm (UTC)so you can blow things up with the weather, I'mma just hang out and be a normal Cleric unless I can do the reqs for Contemplative (for Leo, I'd have to meet the ascended spirit of a hero of the past to do it.)

Date: 2012-07-31 12:27 am (UTC)For reference: Divine Metamagic is a feat that lets you expend Turn Undead attempts on a single Metamagic feat of your choice instead of increasing the caster level. This is already amazing if you're a Cleric taking things like Persistent Spell and Quicken Spell, which are really useful, but have a hefty spell level price (+6 and +4, respectively)
But it gets kind of bananas with the Nightstick, which is an item from Libris Mortis. It's a rod that gives you +4 turning attempts per day, and by the Rules-As-Written, it stacks. They're pricey -- 7,500 GP -- but with enough of them you can start chucking out enhanced spells like they were nothing at all. I've had DMs that outright ban this combo, and DMs that THREW NIGHTSTICKS AT ME and let me stomp on the game like Godzilla
see: reasons teal loooves clerics XD

Date: 2012-07-31 12:47 am (UTC)My whole goal is to be a badass motherfucker. ... yeah that's about it. Well, that, and I really, really hope to EITHER
1. Find a way to break my curse (I took Family Curse: Greater...) in suitably dramatic and awesome fashion or
2. Fail to break the curse and die in a truly epic yet heartbreakingly tragic way. Maybe such that my companions are inspired to go fight people to get my soul back.
Prooobably not going to take Leadership and do Pirate Captaining just because despite rolling ridonkulously well and thus having decent Charisma, I'm going to be more focused on Buffing Like Crazy, Healing Folks Good, and once I'm higher level, STUFF BLOWING UP.

Date: 2012-07-31 12:53 am (UTC)I
did it myself...............
This is all also under Dark Secret though, so good luck getting Leo to actually TELL anyone in the party. It'll be on his character sheet when I get it done
But essentially, he was a Sahaugin (as I said) who made a deal with Leviathan (according to Greg, an ultimate spirit of the deep waters who was so powerful and terrifying it took ALL THE GODS OF THE WATERS WORKING TOGETHER to seal it away. And they were running SCARED) to become human so he could chase his destiny
So essentially he 1. brought this on himself and 2. ... deal with a creature that scares gods
Me: THIS WILL BE FUN >3

Date: 2012-07-31 12:56 am (UTC)I am so ridiculously excited, Arella. I dunno if it's obvious or not but since I was a little kid I've had a huuuge love of sea creatures of all types (sharks and whales and fish and turtles and ALL THE THINGS), and pirates too, so uh
yeah
